Case Study 1

A dog presented symptoms of watery stool with digesta and had experienced multiple episodes of diarrhoea. It was diagnosed with enteritis. Despite the use of antibiotics, the condition did not improve. The veterinarian then prescribed high-dose Plantact at 2g per day on top of antibiotics. After 24 hours of administration of Plantact™, the stool became less watery, and then to soft but well-formed faeces after 3 days. Veterinarian provided her feedback that Plantact™ could improve the gut symptoms in a shorter time compare to other gut supplements that she has been using before.

Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp are among the most common enteropathogenic bacteria that cause acute gastroenteritis and diarrhea in cats and dogs. The clinical signs can range in severity from a mild self-limiting diarrhea to a potentially fatal acute hemorrhagic diarrheal syndrome (AHDS). Plantact™ can inhibit 92.7% of Salmonella spp colonies and 93.1% of E.coli.

Plantact™ contains bacteriocin-like inhibitory substances (BLIS) that can effectively kill the pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms that causes various gut and skin issues to the pets, including Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp., Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans.

How does Plantact™ work?

Candida albicans is also an opportunistic yeast that will infect the hosts’ oral cavity, skin dan even the entire body when the hosts’ immune system is bad. Staphylococcus aureus is an opportunistic pathogen that causes staphylococcal dermatitis in pets when skins are irritated or injured. Plantact™ has shown the efficacy to inhibit 96.1% of Staphylococcus aureus colonies and 99.8% of Candida albicans.

In-House Pre-Clinical Study:

This study shows that the cell counts of the bad bacteria and fungi in the faeces of healthy laboratory rats dropped within 24 hours after oral administration of Plantact™, whereas the growth of the good lactic acid bacteria was promoted. This exhibits the efficacy of Plantact™ in creating a healthy gut microbiota.

Case Study 2

A pet dog presented to a pet clinic was diagnosed with parvovirus, a life-threatening virus. The clinical symptoms include vomiting, diarrhoea and dehydration and could result in sepsis. The dog was then admitted and had multiple episodes of diarrhoea during the stay. On top to the usual treatment plan, the veterinarian decided to prescribe 2g per day of Plantact™ with hopes of restoring its gut conditions within shorter period of time. After 4 days of feeding, the diarrhoea frequency reduced and conditions improved.

Versatility of Plantact™ Postbiotic in Formulation

Thanks to the postbiotic's intrinsic nature of being able to withstand high heat without losing its activities, Plantact postbiotic can be used to formulate any form of pet products.

The Next Biotic For Wellness

Much like probiotics, postbiotics, when consumed, confer health benefits to the host. However, the distinguishing factor lies in Plantact™ postbiotic, where the bioactivity of its components remains resilient even in extreme temperature and pH conditions. This unique intrinsic resilience sets Plantact™ postbiotic apart, making it a superior biological ingredient suitable for manufacturing processes involving high temperatures that would render traditional probiotics ineffective.

Evolved from Probiotic, But Better

Evolved from the realm of probiotics, Plantact™ postbiotic transcends previous limitations. The once-challenging technical hurdle of incorporating probiotics into products has been overcome, offering the best of both worlds. Now, the only limit to the product's potential is your imagination.

Plantact is a trademark of Biotenova.
